OUR CAPTAIN
Steve Metz
Steve is the owner and Captain of Illusion, and is a lifetime sailor. Born and raised in Washington state, USA, Steve first moved to Hong Kong in 1987. A loving husband and a father of two boys, Steve has plenty of experience with sailors of all experience levels.
Steve is also long time member of the DBYC (Discovery Bay Yacht Club) and has achieved multiple certificates in relation to boating and safety (*see below for a full list).
OUR YACHT
SV Illusion
Illusion is a 38 foot Dufour Classic, built in France in 2000. She's a beautiful cruising yacht. Very comfortable for any new aspiring sailors or first timers. She is very safe in a big breeze, easy to reef her sails, and has all the proper safety gear needed.

*Certificates Obtained:
RYA Dayboat Skipper, RYA Powerboat level 2, RYA Safety and Sea Survival courses, Hong Kong Pleasure Vessel Operator Engineer & Master certs for grade 2, USA NASBLA online boating safety course recognised by the US Coast Guard, NauticEd certificate of Nautical Achievement at Captain level IV.
Steve has been a PADI Dive Instructor, HK Lifeguard, First Aid/CPR/AED Instructor, and ARC Swimming & Lifeguard Instructor Trainer.
